ProcessingOur Systems and Processes for Producing Certified Organic Noni Juice:Cook Islands:Our Certified Organic Noni juice comes from the pristine Cook Islands group in the Southern Pacific Ocean Over the last 8 years we have refined our systems of processing and can now offer the most cared for product at the best price in the market.
We have found the best results have come from using the simple Hydro-Presses common in the Islands. This process duplicates the traditional method used in the Cook Islands, where each home has a jar filled with fermenting Noni fruits. They then place the pulp into a cloth or bag, and twist the ends until the Noni juice runs out. The resultant juice is drunk as is. We have found the ultra modern machinery used here in New Zealand is too harsh for processing Noni fruit, so the gentle pressing of the Hydro-Presses in the Islands has proven to be the answer. We have had bacterial analysis done on raw un-pasteurised product freshly arriving in Auckland, and have found the levels of bacteria to be almost zero. See the analysis report here Now the whole production process is conducted in the Islands, and only the finished juice is shipped to Auckland. This has also greatly benefited the noni fruit growers as they are now all involved in the whole process, and reap the associated financial benefits. Under this policy, any value added remains in the Islands, and we are only the marketing vehicle for the end product. The Noni juice is then stored in the large stainless tanks left over from the old brewery until there is sufficient for a shipment to Auckland. At that point the noni juice is pumped into 1,000 litre IBC units, labeling and batch numbering are attached, and the box is sealed and taken to the wharf for ready for the next boat. New Zealand: Once the shipment is cleared customs and MAF, it is stored in a bond store awaiting shipping or bottling.
Bulk Noni juice shipments:The IBC units are checked and labeled for international shipping, then the container is loaded and the seal applied. If the shipment is to be less than a FCL, the IBC units are taken to the freight station for outward bound LCL shipments Bottled Noni juice shipments:The required volume of bulk juice is trucked to “Greenways” bottling plant, where the raw Noni juice is pasteurised before bottling at not less than 86.5° C. Our labels or the customers labels are attached, and the production date and organic batch numbers are automatically printed on the labels. FCL shipments:The bottles are then packaged in cartons of 12 bottles per carton, and palletized at 56 cartons per pallet. This is a total of 672 bottles per pallet for normal bulk FCL shipments. LCL shipments:These shipments are configured to suite the order. The minimum order is 16 cartons or 192 bottles A flow chart to explain the process is available here
