![]() Noni product options are expanding, and whilst at this time we are only producing pure Noni juice products, there are some product options we are currently developing. The potential range of health and beauty products based on Noni include;
Our Noni juice products originate in the Cook Islands, especially chosen because their Noni has the best taste of all the Pacific Islands, especially true from the outer Islands. There are numerous islands in the Cooks group, which is divided into the Northern and Southern groups. Very few of these outer islands have cultivated Noni tree plots, so almost all the fruit is from trees growing in the wild. This is the ideal scenario from a potency point of view, because some of these Noni trees grow on the coral formations close to the sea, and some grow inland in the fertile valleys and highlands. The end product will therefore have a combination of all the trace elements from the entire ecosystem as a whole. The entire nutrient contents of a whole island will be captured in the Noni fruits, which is why Noni juice tests out as containing over 170 identified elements. Another advantage of this system is all the fruit are brought to a central point to be sold by the grower. This central point has the washing and inspection facilities, which means only perfectly ripe Noni fruit are ever placed in the fermentation barrels. We have our representative on each of the islands we purchase from, and we fund an account so the growers can be paid directly for their daily produce. This system works well, and everyone is paid up front for their efforts. Now we also produce the Noni juice at the point of sale, there is a greater value added to the local economy. The locals are over the moon with the outcome of our continued search for the perfect solutions within the Noni Juice industry. Bio-Organic Noni Products
As an integral part of our quality assurance programme, Pacific Trading Co. Ltd has paid for auditors from Agriquality and Bio-Gro NZ to audit and certify all our growers for Organic Noni Juice production. Quite some undertaking, but well worth the effort. We can pay our growers more than the usual going price for the fruit because it is certified organic. In return, they pledge to keep their systems up to the international organic standard. (IFOAM) If you have ever wondered why Noni products are comparatively expensive, just try to visualize the logistics of getting these barrels of fruit to the mainland shipping port. Firstly the barrels have to be shipped to Rarotonga all the way from New Zealand. The local island trading boats then distributes these barrels to the outer islands on their periodic trips around the island groups. The return trip is on one of the larger cargo ships. Aluminum barges are used to transport the barrels from the islands through the reef structure to an awaiting island cargo ship. This ship does a 2 week round trip of all the islands in either the northern or southern groups. At the same time the full barrels are picked up, the same amount of empty ones are dropped off for pick-up on the next trip. When the Noni fruit barrels arrive at Rarotonga they are either shipped on to New Zealand, or the juice is pressed at the local processing plant. Some Noni juice is bottled locally for the local market and tourist trade, but almost all the locals have a large jar at home with fermenting fruit for their own family use. Noni Juice Production
The barrels that arrive in New Zealand are turned into Noni products by a processor associated with the wine industry, where they produce either Bulk Noni product for the international wholesale market, or bottles of Noni juice for retail sales worldwide. |
